Mattea ‘Tea’ Turenne (they/she) is a non-binary butch lesbian artist and illustrator based in Baltimore, Maryland. In May 2024, they graduated with their BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), with a major in General Fine Arts and double minor in Book Arts and Illustration. 

Tea Turenne is a mixed media artist and illustrator currently based on the east coast of the United States. Their experience as a transmasculine butch lesbian is central to their work, which highlights the love and emotionality inherent to butch identity.  They use flowers and natural elements as motifs for gender transformation and growth, deriving inspirations from the folk art traditions of their South American and European heritages.

When they aren't making art, they can be found playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon or working out at the gym
